We begin today’s podcast with the Chief Minister’s address to the UN General Assembly in New York, where he accused them of failing to fulfil its mandate, with Gibraltar remaining on its list of non-self-governing territories. Fabian Picardo stressed he was not there to ask for favours but to demand the right to self-determination. Ros Astengo was following the address late last night.
But the majority of this episode focuses on well-being, and how it we can encourage young people to reflect on well-being in today’s connected world. As part of this week’s Gibraltar Schools Mental Health Festival, renowned parenting expert Sue Atkins will lead sessions on navigating the digital age. She was in the studio together with campaigner, lawyer and parent Selwyn Figueras; Havannah Salcedo, a 16-year-old student with clear ideas on the topic; and Secondary school teacher and parent Natalie Massetti. Together, they explored the challenges of raising happy, resilient children in an online world.
