The barn burning furiously now, the possum reappears and attacks Lyle again. As he fends it off, it catches fire. But Lyle cannot figure out how to save his friend Matteo—or whatever he’s become. The roof collapses around him. Passing out in the smoke, he hears banshees cry in the night and sees a new monster approach. It’s a first responder. Outside, Frank helps Lyle into a waiting ambulance. He’s terrified Matteo may have died. Passing out again, he’s visited by the spirit of Flo Hendricks.
