Myla Leinweber - A Parent Coach and Parent Educator from British Columbia

Myla Leinweber, from British Columbia, is a former kindergarten teacher with a Masters in Education. Currently,  she helps parents of young children navigate parenting challenges and find more joy in parenting, and ultimately life. Her goal is to eliminate 'mom or parent guilt' and empower parents to be confident in parenting situations. Her practice is based on positive psychology, and the model that she uses is to find the strengths in the family and work and build from those, rather than offering a prescriptive program of 'how to.’ In the show, she talked about her experience as a parent coach, why she loves it and how she sees kids as whole people with preferences, feelings and experiences. She also discussed that parenting strategies are different to each family and it is important to consider creating a "kid-generated plan”. What exactly is a kid-generated plan? Listen to this episode to find out.
