I had the absolute pleasure of sitting down with AnneMarie Whelan, founder and CEO of RegSol, a compliance consultancy and training firm specializing in financial services regulation.

AnneMarie brings a wealth of experience to the table. She spent nine years practicing as a barrister before transitioning into financial services regulation in 2014. Since then, she has developed expertise in areas such as Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Consumer Protection, and Data Protection. AnneMarie regularly presents at industry events and holds key compliance roles, including a Central Bank of Ireland approved PCF-12 Head of Compliance position and serving as a Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for a Credit Union on an outsourced basis .

In our conversation, we delve into how one's socioeconomic background can influence both career trajectory and confidence. AnneMarie shares candid stories from her time at the Bar and discusses her decision to leave that world behind. We also explore the challenges and triumphs of women in business, among many other topics.
