Das heutige Thema ist das Jugendwort des Jahres 2023. Dies wurde letzte Woche auf der Frankfurter Buchmesse vom Langenscheidt-Verlag bekannt gegeben.
Jugendliche stimmten seit Juni über ihr Lieblingswort ab. Die Beteiligung soll im sechsstelligen Bereich gelegen haben, gezählt wurden allerdings nur Stimmen der 10 bis 20 Jährigen, also von denen die in diesem Jahrhundert geboren wurden, nämlich der Generation Z.
Auf Platz drei lag “NPC”, welches für “Non-Player-Character” steht, also für jemanden, der nur passiv wahrnimmt, was um ihn herum passiert. Platz zwei nahm “Side eye” ein. Damit ist ein skeptischer Blick gegenüber einer Person oder Situation gemeint. Auf Platz ein und somit Jugendwort des Jahres 2023 ist “goofy”. Ältere Generationen werden den Begriff noch als Comicfigur von Walt Disney kennen. Diese Figur war für ihre Tollpatschigkeit und Naivität bekannt. Im Deutschen wird dieses Wort als Adjektiv benutzt und hat die gleiche Bedeutung. Goofy kann wahrscheinlich nicht dekliniert werden und wird wohl er prädikativ als attributiv gebraucht. Ein goofy Hund hört sich schon komisch an, eher heißt es wohl “Der Hund ist goofy”. Gesteigert werden kann es wohl schon. Jemand kann also goofyer als andere oder gar am goofyesten ein.
