Gator Tales #52: The Gatorade Story with Dr. Chip Hinton & Dr. Christian Jobin
Gator Tales with Sean Kelley, Presented by UF Health is back in action this week to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Gatorade.
Episode 52 of Gator Tales dives into the story of Gatorade via a pair of special guests in Dr. Chip Hinton and Dr. Christian Jobin. These conversations kick off a weekend of celebration for 60 years of Gatorade, culminating with recognition during Saturday's home football game against Texas.
Kelley begins Episode 52 with Dr. Hinton, who was one of the "Baby Gators" and a member of the original Gatorade testing group with Dr. Robert Cade in 1965. Hinton tells the story of his participation in the project and how it affected his life at UF and beyond.
Thereafter, the conversation shifts to Dr. Jobin, Distinguished Professor of Medicine at UF Health. The research conducted by Dr. Jobin and his team was launched by Gatorade royalties, which continues to back their efforts more than 12 years later.
