Winter blooms and backyard tidy-ups

In this episode horticulturists Adam Woodhams and Jenny Dillon take a look at their favourite winter bloomers and the jobs you can do around the garden during winter.

Garden design is top of mind as something you can do during the cold months, and Nicola Cameron from PEPO Botanic Design joins the show to talk about the latest outdoor trends and easy things you can do right now to improve your outdoor areas.

Plus, Milton Black shares his tips on gardening by the moon.

Here is the list of Adam and Jenny's favourite winter-flowering trees, shrubs and plants:

  • Trumpet or flame creeper (Pyrostegia venusta)
  • Grevilleas and banksias
  • Proteas
  • Flowering quinces
  • Camellias: sasanqua, japonica and reticulata
  • Gordonias (fried egg tree)
  • Lily of the valley shrub (Pieris japonica)
  • Cymbidium orchids
  • Clivias
