Hello and welcome to the Gapped podcast. My name is Junaid Ibrahim & here we will hear from the shakers, movers and trailblazers from the muslim cycling community.
There are just so many people to speak to! There are so many people who are doing amazing things! Those who are pioneers, who started long before the cycling boom, who paved the way for the rest of us. Those who are still pushing boundaries, both physically and mentally, riding to different corners of the world, or the corners of their limits!
As an avid rider myself, no doubt I’d love to share some of my experiences and what has worked for me and what hasn’t. So whether you’re an ardent cyclist or just passing casually, we hope to provide you with entertainment, inspiration and tips for your next experience by bike.
Behind all of this is the thought that if you can hear it or see it, you can be it!

Salaam & Peace!
Thanks again for tuning in, we have Sajjad on, from West London. He was born with Club foot - I'll let him explain what that is!
Despite his disability, he has taken up the sport and thrives! Sajjad has even started competing locally, against able-bodied cyclists, and that to me is absolutely incredible. He doesn't ride with cleats just yet, he can't! So rocks up to Time trials with his basketball shoes on and his baggy shorts of course. What a boss! I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot more from him in the future!
If you are a para-athlete, or looking to get into the sport, now would be an awesome time to look into the Limitless project by British Cycling, making the sport accessible to disabled riders across the country!
