Fancy a bit of loot? That’s the question facing Hannah, Matt and Steve, as they return for the latest episode of The Gaming Lobby podcast!
Microtransactions, loot creates, and in game purchases have been attracting the ire of the team this time around. Where’s the line? What’s right, what’s wrong, and what state is in the industry in? Plus: are YouTubers part of the problem?
All these are discussed in a very calm and not ranty way. And then, just to round things off, the trio test their ears with the regular gaming sound quiz at the end….

Snobbery, snobbery, snobbery. That’s the topic in hand as Hannah, Matt and Steve return for the latest episode of The Gaming Lobby.
Snobbishness in and towards videogames gets the trio talking: Matt takes on console gaming, Steve has some words about mobile games, Hannah has views on frame rates. Between them all, much to discuss.
And then? There’s the small matter of their little quiz show at the end. Loser reads the credits. Regular listeners will be able to hazard a decent guess at who that person is…

The Gaming Lobby videogaming podcast is turning its attention towards movies and TV shows this month. After all, history has taught us that nothing works more seamlessly than turning a much-loved game into a movie.
Gulp.
Hannah Rutherford (@lomadia), Steve Kelly and Matt Taylor are your hosts, and obviously they amiably agree as always...
They also round off the episode with one of the easier gaming sound quizzes they’ve done – but who will emerge victorious, and who’s going to have to read out the end credits?

Get ready for blood, guts and corruptible minds in the latest episode of The Gaming Lobby podcast.
Hannah Rutherford (@lomadia), Steve Kelly and Matt Taylor are your hosts for another delve into the world of videogames.
In their crosshairs this time? Violence in videogames, a topic for which Hannah put on her Doom T-shirt. The trio look at some of history’s most notable violent games, and debate just how much impact it all has.
Once they’re done with their punch-up, they get down to the business of the gaming sounds quiz. Loser, as always, has to read the end credits…

They’re back, and they’re arguing again! Hannah Rutherford (@lomadia), Steve Kelly and Matt Taylor are your hosts for another delve into the world of videogames.
This time, what starts as a straightforward debate about the merits of both physical and digital games goes down a rabbit hole of collectables and an unexpected Banjo Kazooie impression. Plus there’s the moment when Football Manager got installed onto a school server…
Once they’ve finished ‘debating’, the show ends as always with the sound quiz. But who will have the forfeit of reading out the end credits?

It's the latest episode of Gaming Lobby, Hannah Rutherford (@lomadia), Steve Kelly and Matt Taylor stop playing games for a while to listen to them instead!
They celebrate the quality of videogame scores and salute some of their highlights, and there's a mandated mention too of the mighty Parappa The Rappa. Plus, Hannah's trip to listen to a video score concert, and not quite getting the music she was expecting.
As always, they go head-to-head at the end of the episode for the traditional sound quiz, and there's no hint at all of them being competitive about it. Gulp...

Hannah Rutherford (@lomadia), Steve Kelly and Matt Taylor - the Gaming Lobby team, - return to chat games, test their skills, and hope that producer Chris hasn't put an outtake in the mix as a post-credits sting.
It's multiplayer games that they're turning their attention to this episode. What do they play? What are the multiplayer games they've enjoyed from yesteryear? And are they any good? Plus, a few words on Steamdeck, escape rooms, and esports in Dundee.
Then, of course, they go head-to-head at the end of the episode for the traditional sound quiz. Nothing could go wrong there...

Hannah Rutherford (@lomadia), Steve Kelly and Matt Taylor - the Gaming Lobby team, - turn their brains and eyes towards gaming remakes. Obviously, as always, it's a very grown up and proper conversation, that in no way segues into, er, more 'off piste' moments.
They lament gaming manuals. Matt offers a tenner (not a real one) to anyone who can beat him at Mario Kart. Producer Chris sighs, but gets all happy when Prince Of Persia is mentioned. And then there's the quiz at the end too...

It's a time for The Gaming Lobby team to look ahead, as Hannah Rutherford (@lomadia), Steve Kelly and Matt Taylor start wrapping their head around preorders and preorder culture. It starts sensible of course, as they consider which games are on their radars for 2023. But then, predictably, the grumbles kick in and normal service resumes.
They also end up getting into gaming awards, where indies fit in, and the lid is lifted on a voting panel for a major award too. Don't tell anyone though. Our secret.
As always, the episode wraps up with a guess the sound quiz. As ever too, the loser has to read out the end credits. Turns out our three hosts are on the competitive side...

The Gaming Lobby returns, with Hannah Rutherford (@lomadia), Steve Kelly and Matt Taylor knocking their heads back together for their latest dive into the world of videogaming.
The topic? Well, in theory, it was supposed to be seasonal games, but that proves to be just the starting point. Along the way they cover Home Alone, a really rather moving game, a bit of God Of War, one or two complaints, and then embark on the end of podcast quiz.
But who's going to fail to identify which game which sound comes from, and end up having to read out the end credits?

We're at the third episode of Gaming Lobby, a podcast exploring the past, present and future of videogames! Your hosts? Hannah Rutherford (@lomadia), Steve Kelly and Matt Taylor are your guides, and obviously, they always agree on everything
This time? Well, they're trying to scare each other. Which videogames are really scary? Which are the ones that get under the skin? Quite a few recommendations in this one, as well as a bizarre post-credits sting from producer Chris. We got him on an odd day.
As always, they round off with their sound effect quiz. But will we get a new winner....?
Once again, it's all rounded off by the hosts setting each other an audio quiz - we can but hope you fare better than they did...

Welcome back to Gaming Lobby, a podcast exploring the past, present and future of videogames! Your hosts? Hannah Rutherford (@lomadia), Steve Kelly and Matt Taylor
In this episode, our intrepid threesome head deep into the world of really difficult videogames. Which are the toughest? Are difficult games fun? Don't we all just want an easy life?
Also, Steve manages to not tell anyone for at least a few minutes that he went to Mount Everest and had to be rescued. Good of him to keep that to himself.
Once again, it's all rounded off by the hosts setting each other an audio quiz - we can but hope you fare better than they did...

A very warm welcome to Gaming Lobby, a brand new podcast exploring the past, present and future of videogames! Your hosts? Hannah Rutherford (@lomadia), Steve Kelly and Matt Taylor
In our debut episode, we’re marking the release of the final FIFA – until it changes name next year – by chatting sports games. Which would go better if, well, our hosts were particularly sporty.
Still, they manage to get in topics as varied as Tekken, the Street Fighter movie and a growing number of golf games. And they round things off with their ‘guess which game this sound comes from’ quiz.
Hopefully you’ll fare better than they did…!
