Many teams fly under the radar, but few do it as well as BYU. After starting the season as a “lost cause” due to Jake Retzlaff transferring, everyone crossed off the Cougars from their ballot. However, we’re six weeks in, and the Cougars show no sign of slowing from last year’s performances. They have exceeded expectations and got their true freshman QB, Bear Bachmeier, up to speed in just 5 games. He threw for 351 yards and ran for a touchdown in a dominant win over West Virginia, and they are looking to win this weekend in Tucson.
The next six games for BYU will be difficult to navigate. Each of the opponents is currently 4-1 or better and showcasing talented quarterback play. The Big 12 race is still very much open, as per usual. Major upsets went down this week, with #7 Penn State losing to UCLA, which hadn’t led at any point in the season before the game. BYU Men’s Hoops had “Marriott Madness” last night to kick off the most anticipated season in program history. Listen to this episode for in-depth insights and my thoughts on college football! #byu
