Weier and Geyser were both found not guilty by mental disease or defect and committed to mental health institutions. Weier received a sentence of 25 years to life and Geyser was sentenced to 40 years to life. Anissa Weier was released in 2021 to live with her father. Morgan Geyser is scheduled to be released in 2025 to live in a group home and will be under supervision until 2058.
