The first official Memorial Day was observed on May 30, 1868, three years after the end of the Civil War. On Memorial Day, and always, we honor the military personnel who have given their lives in the service of their country. We keep them in our hearts. We do not forget.
(Monday's episode didn't show up in some feeds, so here is the rebroadcast of "Flanders Fields," the Memorial Day podcast leading into the hiatus. Wishing everyone a safe and happy Memorial Day with friends and family. All the best to you over the summer - enjoy! I'll keep you updated as to the progress on my book about personal finance and home economics for young people. If you have any good tips, please send them my way!
