On the eighteenth night of our #31DaysToHalloween the Mister joins me in reviewing ODDITY (2024), written and directed by Damian Mc Carthy. A year after her twin sister Dani's brutal murder at a remote country house, blind clairvoyant Darcy becomes convinced the police blamed the wrong man. Darcy visits the house—now occupied by Dani's widower Ted and his new girlfriend—bringing a menacing, life-sized wooden golem from her shop of cursed items. Using her psychometric abilities and supernatural tools, Darcy sets a trap to expose the true killer, leading to a night of terror where the wooden mannequin acts as her agent of violent revenge. The film clocks in at 2 h and 32 m, is rated R and we caught the film on the Hoopla app (support your local library!) but you can also find it on Hulu, AMC+ and to buy/rent on Prime Video.
