Punjabi-American sitar player, songwriter and ambient musician Ami Dang constructs speculative and searing soundscapes, uniting the disparate worlds of Indian classical music and dreamy synth-infused song composition. Her dreamlike work references her hybrid identity as a first-generation South Asian-American, Sikh upbringing, musical education, as well as the chaos and spirituality of the landscapes of both Baltimore and urban India.

Following the release of her acclaimed 2019 full-length album, Parted Plains, a few scattered EP's as well as collaborations and tours with the likes of Animal Collective, Beach House and black midi, Ami chats with boxout.fm's Rounak Maiti for another insightful episode of Fresh Out The Box.
