
A Florida sheriff praised a local resident who opened fired during a home invasion carried out by two ‘migrants,’ at least one of whom was in the U.S. illegally, according to authorities.
The harrowing incident unfolded at around 9 p.m. on Thursday night in Bradenton, a city in Manatee County.
A male homeowner reportedly observed two men breaking into his residence and urged his wife to seek refuge while retrieving a firearm.
The man subsequently shot at the suspects, striking one who later succumbed to his injuries.
The second suspect fled the scene but was quickly apprehended a short distance away.
He was identified as Michel Soto-Mella, a Chilean national who is illegally present in the U.S.
