Paul O'Neill

Welcome to the Fraserburgh Cricket Club Chronicles! This is a podcast where Andrew Henderson talks to Broch players past and present to hear their stories about playing cricket in the North East of Scotland.

First up is Paul O'Neill, one of the more experienced members in the current side who made his senior debut for Fraserburgh in the early-90s. Paul became captain in 1993, leading the Broch to promotion and a cup final that he was named man of the match in, but he would later go for more than a decade without featuring for the club after moving down to England and giving up cricket altogether.

A return to Aberdeenshire in the 2010s meant a comeback for the Broch though, this time accompanied by his son Garry, and since then multiple promotions and cup finals have followed - including a first season in Grade 1 of the North East Scotland leagues since 1975.
