September 14, 2019 started off just as any other regular day with errands to run and appointments to keep, yet something seemed to be amiss. Then came an early afternoon call sharing that the unimaginable was now a reality. The words that no mother, no parent would ever want to hear, “your son has been arrested and you need to call his cellphone!” This message alone was enough to create shock and awe, however, the information only worsened with details of learning an altercation with an officer had ensued and this would set a 3-year course of fear, anxiety, agony and separation for a mother and son. This story is not just any story…this is Susan’s story.
