In 2015 she was a co-editor in Nordic Drama Magazine, where the topic was Green Drama. This year she has co-edited a new issue, 2/2020 of Nordic Drama Magazine. The magazine will be published in October with focus on sustainability.

Shabana debuterte som som stand-up komiker i 1999, og siden har hun begynt med fortelling. Shabana har markert seg offentlig i kampen for individets frihet og menneskerettigheter. I 2002 vant hun Fritt Ords pris for sin uredde og langsiktige innsats for å bygge bru mellom kulturer. I podcasten snakker Shabana om flykt, den mørke, mektige gudinnen Kali og om fortelling som verktøy i våre liv og vårt miljø.
