A Chosen Instrument: Acts 9:1-31

In this episode of Footnotes, we explore the conversion of Saul and how his background as a Pharisee highlights the depths of God’s sovereignty in choosing him. Unlike the Sadducees, who denied the resurrection and held power through their association with the temple, the Pharisees were devoted to the Law and believed in the resurrection of the dead. Saul’s zeal for the Law made him a fierce opponent of the early church, yet it was this very foundation that God would use to shape him into the apostle who would proclaim Christ as the fulfillment of the Law. His story is a powerful reminder that God’s purposes are not hindered by human opposition but are accomplished through His sovereign grace.
