Great stories from November 16, 2005

To mark the 20th anniversary of Australia's win over Uruguay to end a 32-year wait to make the FIFA World Cup, football360.com.au will be going down memory lane over the next few days.

On our podcast feed, we were joined by TOM SMITHIES, long time The Daily Telegraph journalist, who was Soccer Editor of the paper in 2005.

He has some fabulous tid bits and recollections from two decades ago, including how the iconic phrase Divine Right came to be and how Uruguay's "shenanigans" backfired in a way Australian officials still laugh about today.

Enjoy.
