Ru: В осеннюю прохладу, когда листья шуршат под ногами и воздух напоён запахом дождя, в небольшом здании, служащем избирательным участком, нарастало напряжение.
En: In the autumn chill, when leaves rustle underfoot and the air is filled with the scent of rain, tension was mounting in the small building serving as a polling station.

Ru: Люди собираются здесь, чтобы выразить своё мнение и выбрать будущего лидера местного административного округа.
En: People gathered here to express their opinion and choose the future leader of the local administrative district.

Ru: Елена, невысокая женщина с яркими глазами, стояла в сторонке.
En: Elena, a short woman with bright eyes, stood to the side.

Ru: Она была организатором, душой движения за честные выборы.
En: She was the organizer, the soul of the movement for fair elections.

Ru: Ей важно, чтобы голоса людей были услышаны.
En: It was important to her that people's voices were heard.

Ru: Недалеко от неё стоял Игорь.
En: Not far from her stood Igor.

Ru: Он был местным политиком, более заботящимся о своём положении.
En: He was a local politician more concerned about his position.

Ru: Шепот по залу вспыхнул, словно искра.

En: If she didn't stop, it could be his downfall.

Ru: "Всё законно, нет никаких ошибок," — пытался успокоить Игорь собравшихся, но слова его звучали неубедительно.
