Compliments, we all love to hear them right? But have you thought about how giving compliments that are related to someone’s appearance may make them feel uncomfortable?
Giving compliments that are directed at how someone looks may cause them to believe that their worth is based on how they look on the outside, especially for younger folks!
Instead of complimenting someone on their appearance, try complimenting on their character, personality, skills and achievements instead!
In this episode, I discuss:
Why appearance-based compliments may be hurtful or uncomfortable
How complimenting others can boost your own emotional wellness
Ways that we can give compliments that will shift our focus from physical traits to inner qualities and characteristics
One thing that people don't talk about enough when it comes to exercising, is how it helps build resiliency and mental toughness. Yes, exercising is great for your physical health, but it also does wonders to change your mindset and to develop a stronger and tougher brain.
Being mentally tough can help you set yourself up for success, it can help you reframe negative thoughts and that can translate into all aspects of your life.
In this episode, I discuss:

Have you heard of toxic positivity? While this term is fairly new, this has actually existed since the start of humanity! While it’s great to have a positive attitude, sometimes it can be harmful especially when you start denying others actual feelings and emotions.
In this episode, I discuss:
P.S. I know I said I would upload an episode on financial wellness this week, but it will be pushed back to next week!! I promise!!
Let's take a break from all the heavy topics that we've been talking about and talk about something a little bit more light hearted!
I got a request from a follower asking me to talk about how I got my horse, Koda, so we will be talking about that today!
In this episode, I talk about:
Let’s face it.. the horse world is not very inclusive and it is very easy to feel out of place and feel lost.
As your typical adult amateur, I have struggled with feeling this way for a very long time and I’m sure some of you have to!
In this episode, I talk about:
My own experiences with feeling out of place in the horse world
A quote that helped me feel more secure in where I was in life
One thing that can help with feeling more included
I used to think that taking care of myself and my needs were a selfish thing. But then I realized that if I don’t take off myself and put myself first, I won’t be able to take care of everything else around me including my horse!
Self-care is not selfish. Prioritizing yourself and your needs is the only way to truly attain happiness and to live a well balanced life.
In this episode, I discuss:
Is self-doubt holding your riding back?
Do you find yourself comparing your journey to others and feel insecure in where you are with your riding? Don't worry, you're not alone. What you feel is something that I've struggled with for many years and am still struggling with! Self-doubt can have a severe impact on our overall wellness, but don't worry, there are things that you can do to help it!
In this episode, I discuss:
“As an Equestrian, you don’t need to be super strong, you need to be the right amount of strong”
Have you ever wondered why doing random exercises doesn't seem to be helping your riding? Different sports require sport specific training and riding is no different!
In this episode, I discuss my Equestrian Fitness Training philosophy, and why it is different from other fitness training methods! You'll learn the best way to train and condition your body to maximize your potential in the saddle!
In this Episode I discuss:
“You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.”
We can’t do this sport alone and there is a village of people supporting us in order for us to be successful equestrian athletes. Having the right group of people around you can change your entire mental and emotional wellness!
If you’ve been feeling stagnant in your riding or in your life in general, maybe it’s time to re-evaluate the people you allow in your circle.
In this episode, I discuss:
Do you feel nervous before showing? If you haven't, you're lying!
We all get butterflies in our stomach the day or even the week before show day, but there are some things that we can do to help us minimize the nervousness that we feel.
In this episode, I share some positive affirmation hacks, pre-show week fitness routines and mindset exercises for you to try to help you be in a better physical and mental shape before your show!
