SC2023-0967 Dane Patrick Abdool v. State of Florida

A jury found Dane Abdool guilty for the 2006 murder of Ameilia Sookdeo. After a second penalty-phase trial, another jury recommended Abdool be sentenced to death. Abdool now appeals his judge-imposed death sentence, raising nine issues. The state cross-appeals an order suppressing Abdool’s confession, which the trial court found to have been obtained in violation of the Florida constitution.

SC2024-1040 Markas D. Fishburne v. State of Florida

Fishburne appeals his conviction and death sentence for the murder of Aisha Levy in a Jacksonville apartment. He raises five issues in this appeal.

SC2024-1477 Richard Eugene Bishop v. State of Florida

Bishop pleaded guilty to the 2018 murders of Richard Mehrtens and Joseph Pepin. The trial court sentenced Bishop to death for both murders. This is the direct appeal of Bishop’s convictions and sentences.
