Hola! In this episode I was joined by Christie Lazo from Decolonized Motherhood. I am so excited to share this conversation where we touch on what it means to be present and intentional as a parent while holding space for the versions of parenting we saw as FirstGens.
Let me know what resonated from this episode and what question you would have asked Christie!
Get to Know Christie: Christie Lazo is a motherscholar and Indigenous-Peruvian migrant completing an MA Degree in Social Justice Education at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE), and a Specialized Collaboration in Ethnic, Immigration, and Pluralism Studies through the Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy, both at the University of Toronto. Her research examines the intersections of motherhood, migration, global Indigeneity and Indigenous knowledge systems, and racial/cultural/ethnic identity.
Outside of her professional career in strategic digital marketing and communications within higher education, Christie thrives in creating content for @DecolonizedMotherhood. This project of the heart, soon to expand into a podcast, is where motherhood meets social justice; and brings her thought leadership, research and academic work to digital spaces making it accessible to communities beyond academia.
