2025年9月23日、宮崎県においてWSL（ワールドサーフリーグ）公認の「The Open Surfing Miyazaki Series」が開幕。第1弾は、日向市お倉ヶ浜で「WSL The Open Surfing 日向プロジュニア」が開催された。そして、26日からは舞台を宮崎市木崎浜に移して、「WSL QS2,000 The Open Surfing 宮崎プロ」がスタートする。
