Mind Over Thyroid: Cracking the Code to Mental Wellbeing
In this episode, we discuss the surprising connection between thyroid imbalances and mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, and ADHD. I share my personal experiences with thyroid problems that contributed to my physical and mental health.   Even with "normal" thyroid test results, there could be underlying thyroid dysfunctions impacting mental well-being. I shed light on common misconceptions about thyroid health and provide insights on how this small gland can significantly impact mood, energy levels, and overall wellness.    We'll explore the complex relationship between the thyroid, hypothalamus, pituitary gland, and the intricate process of hormone production, conversion, and receptor binding. I underscore the importance of comprehensive testing, identifying potential triggers like autoimmune conditions, nutrient deficiencies, and gut issues, and focusing on the individual's symptoms rather than just lab numbers.   Key points:   Thyroid imbalances can have a significant impact on mental health, contributing to issues like anxiety, depression and difficulty with concentration and focus.     "Normal" thyroid test results do not always indicate a healthy thyroid, and further investigation may be necessary to uncover underlying problems.   The connection between thyroid health and mental well-being is an important consideration when addressing mental health challenges.   Resources: Take the first step in healing your thyroid.  Check out my Balance: Nutrition for Mental Wellness Program to help balance your mood and thyroid hormones.     Have you been told your thyroid labs are “normal” but have every symptom of a thyroid imbalance?  Let’s take a second look at those labs!   Check out my Roots Revealed Program to see how it can help you get to the bottom of your potential thyroid imbalances.    Check out the EWG website for great info on clean food and personal care products.  Let’s help reduce our toxic load!   Connect with Michelle: Website: www.michellemariemeyer.com Facebook: Thyme to Nourish Instagram: @michellemariemeyer Pinterest: Michelle Meyer
