
Today’s podcast I had a lot of fun making. Today I talk about Somatic Experiences, what to do when your body responds emotionally. In many cultures, finding language to describe our stressors can be really hard. It is not uncommon for individuals to first go to their primary doctor, only to be told that all the tests come back normal. Or, for someone to be experiencing significant amounts of stress and find that they are constantly tired, having digestive issues, or extreme headaches. Our mindfulness opening activity is to go to the store and purchase yourself a candle. I want you to take time to smell different ones and find one that resonates with you. I want you to create a meaning to the candle; hope, strength, comfort, knowing, belief, trust, etc. After, I want you to light your candle in the mornings while you get ready for the day or in the evening when you are relaxing at home.
