Welcome to the #FindYourFizzPodcast.
With it being National Heart Month - I wanted to take a moment to raise awareness and shine a light, on the importance of recognising why our heart health is so important, especially those of us born with heart defects.
This week, I have the inspirational Danielle - a Cardiac Clinical Nurse Specialist. This wonderful human basically lives my dream job - because as a little girl all I wanted to be a paediatric cardiac nurse.
Danielle specialises in caring for young people aged 12-21 years old with Congenital Heart Disease (CHD)– and she quotes “they are the most inspiring group of young people to work with”.
She completed her nurse training in Bristol qualifying in 2014 and has worked across adult and paediatric cardiac specialties before moving to London in 2018.
Her job allows her to pursue her true passion for adolescent and cardiac health, especially supporting young people throughout the transition process of moving from paediatric to adult care.
Danielle is passionate about promoting the expanding and advanced nursing roles available. She is a go getter and absolutely loves learning and is currently studying towards her master’s degree in Advanced Cardiac Nursing.
She has also been a true hero in 2020, being redeployed to work on the frontline to help with the current global COVID pandemic.
So brace yourselves for this wonder, who brings all her specialist knowledge and wisdom to help you find a healthy and happy heart.
