Join Loz and Hearts of Purple Managing Director Michelle... Hearts of Purple was established in 2017 following the tragic murder of Teresa Bradford. On January 31st, 2017, Teresa’s ex-husband, David Bradford, broke into her home while she and their four children were sleeping. After killing Teresa, he committed suicide, leaving their children orphaned. In the months that followed, as the community supported Teresa's children and family, it became evident that the existing system had significant gaps that needed to be addressed to better protect victims of domestic violence. This realization led to the formation of the non-profit organization Hearts of Purple. The organization is run by a dedicated volunteer committee composed of individuals from various backgrounds, many of whom have personal experiences of abuse and recovery.
