This time Laura and Maana are joined by Ann Bacon, a mum and baby nurse from California,  and a mum of two.

The three talk about Ann’s incredible journey from psychiatric nursing to paediatrics care with HIV positive children and being a mum and baby nurse, to having children of her own, becoming a school nurse in China and now in Finland, and going back to school. The women talk about how new mums face similar challenges in every country, no matter how good or great the social support and healthcare systems are: pressure, isolation, competition, education and financial challenges, work culture as a parent, mental load and the unpaid work of mums are just some of the heavier topics touched on. Ann shares her own experience of being a working mother and what kind of decisions led their family to travel abroad for work, encouraging Laura to compare similarities in living in different countries with your family.
