We met when she was a tech exec at a cyber security company and I was training one of her teams. Let me tell you about Isabella Alveberg. She is the CEO of Snøhetta. It’s an integrated design practice of architecture, landscape, interiors, furniture, graphic and brand design, with offices all over the world including the home office of Oslo, Norway. But I wish I'd listened to that advice. Is really listen more than you speak. I did have a tendency to, uh, you know, to overcompensate and kind of push my ideas forward. And I think as, at least as I get older and take on more, you know, top-level of management positions. I think it's really a good practice to ask for advice. You know, surround yourself with people that are a whole lot smarter than yourself. One of my New Year's resolutions with this year is really to actively seek dialogue, not just conversation, but dialogue to really, truly understand the other person and their point of view. And then, in the end, I have to make the hard decisions. But again, I wish that they not only told me to listen more than I spoke but actually, I had listened to that piece of advice."
