Fast Food Freakout

Subtitle: Exploring the ethics of fast food and its impact on us and our communities

This episode has a ton of information. It can be a little hard to remember all of it. So here are some of the facts I stated if your curious or missed some:

Fact 1: According to a study done by the CDC it was determined that 71.6% of adults 20 and over are overweight including obesity. They published the  results on that page as well stating that for the same age group, 39.8% are considered obese. Source here.

Fact 2: According to Healthline, the number 2 cause of obesity just under genetics is “Engineered Junk Foods”. Find the source here.

Fact 3: According to The Washington Post, junk food is any food that is “highly processed, high in calories, and low in nutrients”. Find the source here.

Fact 4: According to the CDC, 36.6% of adults consume fast food on any given day. They also show consumption decreases with age, and that Black adults are consuming the most fast food. This is followed by White adults, Hispanic adults, and Asian adults. They also provide information that males are more likely than females to consume fast food. Find the source here.

One thing to take away from this though, try to limit or completely stop your consumption of highly processed foods, and warn others of the risks involved with its consumption.
