Our guest is a South African born comedian who currently splits her time between Australia and New Zealand. Starting out doing odd jobs and heading into advertising as a Mac Operator and Graphic Designer, she accepted a dare from her work colleagues to do an open mic night in New Zealand and is now one of the most successful comedians on the circuit, you may know her from her work on 7 Days in New Zealand and Have You Been Paying Attention in Australia. She represents a lot of what this podcast is about, she’s funny, humble and friendly, but she’s strong, confident and wouldn’t hesitate to fuck you up if she had to. She has a unique story, her outlook and attitude is one of the best I’ve come across, not just in the spotlight but in life. She’s one of those people you just want to be around, to have a laugh with. We talk about stage fright, Wanda Sykes, miscarriage, growing up poor, shooting cops and whose sex toys she’d like to get her hands on. This is Urzila Carlson.
