India Sylvester is Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer for Lumen where she leads efforts to create a culture of inclusion and a sense of belonging for diverse teams and clients across the organization. India is an accomplished leader. She has more than 15 years of experience in human resources, with a focus on culture-shaping, talent and global diversity and inclusion.
She has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Valdosta State University and an MBA from Strayer University. She is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and is also a Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP).
India believes creating a culture that embraces diversity, inclusion and belonging is a journey, saying, “Our purpose is furthering human progress through technology. That progress requires a team of experts, with a world of different views, experiences, and skills, working together to build a better and stronger company.” India’s pursuit of change and self-betterment carries into her personal life as well, where she enjoys working on home improvement and renovation projects with her family.
