Episode 66 - Sad Girl Music

The guys discuss why the Ed Reed and Bethune Cookman situation is so crazy. The guys are all NC A&T alums so any conversation about HBCUs hit close to home. They discuss J. Cole - Procrastination song where he snatched a J Cole type beat off of YouTube and sent it to the producer. This was extremely cool because music producers are always last to receive love for their music. So this was a big deal for J. Cole to be willing to do this. In the song, J Cole expressed his humble beginnings and how hard it was to make music on top of the work. Finally, we discussed the SZA - SOS album and what we liked about it and didn't like. Does SZA make Sad Girl Music? And is this type of music a healthy form of expression?
