Lando Norris delivered a masterclass at the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix, securing a lights-to-flag victory from pole position. This triumph marks McLaren's first win in Monaco since 2008 and propels Norris to within three points of teammate Oscar Piastri in the drivers' championship standings.
The race unfolded with minimal overtaking, despite the introduction of a mandatory two-stop rule aimed at enhancing strategic diversity. Charles Leclerc delighted his home crowd with a solid second-place finish for Ferrari, while Piastri completed the podium in third.
Notable incidents included early retirements for Pierre Gasly and Fernando Alonso, and a virtual safety car deployment following Gabriel Bortoleto's crash on the opening lap. Max Verstappen, hindered by tyre issues and strategic missteps, finished fourth, expressing frustration over the race's lack of overtaking opportunities.
With this victory, Norris intensifies the intra-team battle at McLaren, setting the stage for an exciting European triple-header beginning in Barcelona.
