#14 What the hell is TPRS and why am I only hearing about it now?

This is a quick interview conducted with Scott Benedict, plenary speaker at the TPRS conference in Agen, France, to give a very general explanation of TPRS (Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling). You can find an online conference he's involved in here.

The TPRS conference was organised and run by Judith Logsdon-Dubois, whose website and blog can be found here with information about the conference and registration. I highly recommend checking it out for next year's conference.

For even more regular information about language acquisition and teaching methods in general, Scott and Judith recommended Bill Van Patten's podcast called Tea with BVP, check it out for tonnes of hot tips for language teachers.

If you're looking for materials to give TPRS a test drive, I met the lovely Nicole De Boer who helps run the Comprehensible Input Bookshop, a great source of books and materials for TPRS classes and beyond.
