
Helen Turner is the Director of Education for the St. Louis Kaplan Feldman Holocaust Museum. She received her bachelor's degree in history from Binghamton University and her master's in history, specializing in Holocaust and Genocide Studies, from Stony Brook University. Turner's master's thesis focused on collective Holocaust memory and memorial representation in museums. Turner has since written on the subject of resistance and material culture in Auschwitz-Birkenau, and her chapter, "Resistance as Examined through Material Possessions in Auschwitz-Birkenau", was published in 2020.
Turner worked for the Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center of Nassau County for seven years in the Education department before being appointed as the Director of Education for three years. In July of 2022 Turner moved to St. Louis to take up the position of Director of Education for the St. Louis Kaplan Feldman Holocaust Museum. Turner immediately engaged in the design and launch of the Museum, which took place on November 2, 2022.
