Josh Fingerhut is a therapist working in the Los Angeles area who came into this profession after struggling for years with drug addiction and mental health issues and or is he likes to phrase it “I had really meth’ed up there for a while”
After an accident with drugs, Josh landed himself in the hospital for a month where he nearly died. It was very touch and go and his family was prepared for the worst. There was a lot of confusion and sadness about how a good kid with straight A’s, who went to a top tier college could have ended up at 35-year-old meth addict. It was at this moment that he realized he needed help and after spending a year at a Culver City treatment center. He then went on to pursue a masters degree in clinical psychology, and has been applying the struggles that he has faced, as well as the lessons that he has learned into his growing practice in the LA area.
Josh utilizes traditional talk therapy as well as his own unique approach of boxing therapy and breathwork facilitation because as he likes to say “sometimes words aren’t enough”. He has almost 6 years sober and credits all the joy and accomplishments he’s made to the fact that he was able to come out on the other side of the fear and darkness that nearly killed him.
