How to Actually Listen to Your Body to Improve Running Performance and Avoid Overtraining

We all hear “listen to your body”. But how do you know when you’re body is actually telling you to stop, or when you should push through?

This is one of the most important skills to learn as an ultrarunner. Because not listening to your body can lead to underperformance, injury, or burnout. And no one wants that.

In this episode, we share how to actually listen to your body, including:

  • What are real signs that your body needs rest

  • Signs of potential overtraining or under recovery

  • What to push through on versus what to rest on

  • How to approach running if your body is needing some rest

  • How to avoid burnout and how to tell if you are pushing burnout

  • How to stop injuries from happening if you are having niggles/aches

  • And much more!

This is a recording from our most recent group coaching call for the Everyday Ultra Racing Team Group Coaching Calls.

Thank you so much for listening!
