Scott Guffin, PhD, Associate Professor and Executive Director of Christian Ministry at Samford University’s School of the Arts, is a Gardendale, Alabama native and Samford graduate. With over three decades of ministry experience in Alabama, Kentucky, and Indiana, he has served as youth minister, minister of music, associate pastor, and senior pastor. His passion for preaching, teaching, disciplemaking, and missions continues to shape his work at Samford, where he leads the Christian Ministry degree program and prepares students for lifelong service in the church and beyond. Dr. Guffin holds degrees from Samford University and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (MDiv, PhD). He and his wife, Beth, have two grown children, Blake and Bailey, and he enjoys college football and the outdoors.
