It’s often said these days that 40 is the new 30; and women are proving this true by doing all the things they did in their third decade, including getting pregnant. Planned pregnancies among 40-year-olds are more prevalent than ever and women are proud of this! Reasons they give for their choice are that they are  more mature, more patient, have more stable relationships and are better off financially. 

Studies suggest that children of older moms are more likely to be better behaved, well socialized, and emotionally healthy. However, conception at age 40 is much more difficult and miscarriages much more common.
