
Dr. Manuel Sans Segarra talks for over an hour with the venerable Lama Thubten Wangchen about Buddhism and how science explains it.Thubten Wangchen, born in Tibet, is a Buddhist monk, founder of the House of Tibet in Barcelona, representative of Tibet in Spain, and member of the Tibetan Parliament in Exile, where he represents Tibetans living in Europe. He had to emigrate to Kathmandu, crossing the Himalayas, when China invaded Tibet in October 1950. His mother died in a Chinese labor camp when he was 4 years old. He later lived in India, where he begged for many years to survive, until the Indian government took him in and educated him in his culture of origin, as an exile.At the age of 16, he entered a Buddhist monastery for the first time, attracted by the spirituality of his religion. He lived for eleven years in Namgyal Monastery with the Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso.He traveled to Spain for the first time in 1981, accompanying the Dalai Lama, organizing various conferences and seminars on Tibetan culture and history.
