The Lingoholics make a summer return with an episode between Cody and Ian, where each discusses their language outlook for the upcoming summer. Cody makes reference to his alternating days of Korean and English that he is doing with his girlfriend. This leads to a convo about initial immersion experiences so both guys recount their experiences and how it's crucial to not have an English escape. This then spawns a discussion on optimal comprehensible input and finally Ian gives some lowdown on his latest dabble languages.

The Spring season is here and the Lingoholics jump back in for a fresh feeling episode. Cody tells of his eventful journey back to Canada and resettling back home. Markus remarks on his maintenance mode for languages and Ian describes his systematic approach to language practice depending on the day of the week. The guys then get into a discussion about finding something you truly enjoy doing in an language so that the improvements are simply a by product of this activity. Finally the convo circles back to the question of language learning in relationships and just how beneficial it is.

After a brief hiatus to start the year the guys reconvene for a podcast during these tumultuous times, which they squarely blame on themselves because the world went wild since the previous podcast. The guys get into the Russian invasion/attack on Ukraine and the idea of protecting Russian speakers who don't live in Russia and how this compares to other languages. After wearing their political hats, Cody gives an au revoir to Korea and looks forward to his upcoming trip to Jeju island before returning home to Canada. The Lingoholics boys are back and its a doozie.

It's an inaugural livestream episode of the Lingoholics podcast on Twitter and YouTube where the guys capture the live energy. This ep starts with the guys summing up their starts to 2022 and then getting into a mix of topics such as the social side of being a polyglot, when to utilize Netflix subtitles and using music a learning tool. Markus discusses his idea of a Language Ironman and the guys talk about Lex Fridman's insights on learning Russian in Clubhouse. Finally the guys reflect on their new episode feature, the Language Shuffle, and jump back into the shuffle speaking in Spanish, French, Portuguese, German and Korean!

The calendar has turned a page to the new year of 2022 and the guys are feeling fresh and motivated in their language ambitions. Ian is centering around German and Korean, Cody is forging on with Korean in South Korea and Markus is going full French à la Quebecois. The guys hammer out the elements to advance in a language with an emphasis on having systems to achieve goals. Starting this episode the guys bring in their beloved mini-power hour session where they converse in Spanish, French, German, Portuguese and a little Korean to cap off the ep.

It's a festive aura around the Lingoholics as they settle in for the last podcast of the year. Marcus recounts a recent housing fraud situation he encountered and highlights the international bent to it. From there the guys riff on various Christmas traditions especially here in Canada and then a few from around the world. Alas the guys reflect on the highs and the lows of their language learning year of 2021 and offer some foresight of what's to come in 2022.

The month of December is here and the guys settle in for another episode shuffling between a variety of topics including visiting to the tallest buildings in different cities, trying new exotic foods while traveling and overviewing the history of the Garifuna and their language. Then there's a discourse on the final episodes of Money Heist and differences of Spanish amongst the iconic characters. Finally Cody and Ian touch on developing their music playlists and how they're adding some multilingual flare. The guys jump right into the pod catching up with their language updates and early on the topic of sleep arises and how various sleep patterns effect or don't effect language learning functionality. From there the guys talk about their innate natures and how discipline or well-formed habits influence their language learning practice with Cody and Markus having the most noted differences. From there Ian talks about getting daily exposure to the ten big languages in his life and how this creates a forward momentum and internal motivation to keep striving to new heights with a language.

After a quiet October the guys are back in full force to spring into conversation about their beloved subject of languages. Ian and Markus recount the latter's quick trip out to Alberta and how it felt great to riff the whole time in a different language. They make their continual plea for native/advanced language learners to keep sharing the gift and not revert to the dominant language of English. Cody gives an update on his Taekwondo classes and the traction he continues to make with Korean. The episode then centralizes around the idea of doing a language justice and how one's development in a language in a long arduous process with a multitude of cultural discoveries along the way. This then leads to language mastery is essential for instructing in a comprehensible input classroom and the guys get into their long term outlook on languages including Cody's eventual plan to tackle a new language each decade of his life.

It's an episode through the passing of a season and with summer gone the guys are ready to settle into the fall and fire up their languages. Cody talks of his experience joining a Taekwondo class in Seoul and what's it like learning language in a martial arts context. He even recites the Taekwondo oath in Korean, which he is on a mission to memorize. The guys then get into a conversation about the phenomenon of Squid Game and talk about the Day of Reconciliation in Canada and how their buddy Azren has helped facilitate a Blackfoot language course. Markus talks about his plan to go as deep into French and Spanish as he ever has before. Finally Ian talks about the use of images in language learning and teaching and how gifs, memes and pictures can help stimulate the brain for language absorption.

This episode the guys were excited to have polyglot Valeria Tiourina, who is a language YouTuber originally from Russia and has learned numerous languages such as French, Italian, Chinese and currently Japanese. Valeria speaks of her early childhood experiences involving her mother’s persistence in using Russian at home and this helped her stay connected with her roots. She then elaborates on her school experiences with French and Italian as an extracurricular language. She surprises the guys by showcasing her Japanese learning methods, which involves using a Japanese video game. Finally to conclude the interview, Ian asks about her experience being on language social media and what the interactions with the polyglot community have been like.

The Lingoholics jive into the latest episode talking about some recent adventures they’ve had including Ian visiting Toronto and Markus being out in Quebec. Cody catches the guys up on the latest happenings in Korea and his eagerness for his upcoming weeklong holiday. Markus recounts how he was able to hold the Quebecois to French conversations simply by stating he wanted to practice. Cody dives into his recent post on the Learning Korean sub reddit and how he’s needed a full new approach to tackle the idiosyncrasies of Korean. He notes how this has been a much different experience compared to his previous languages.
