Mumbai sisters and musicians Kamakshi and Vishala Khurana launched their educational platform Sound Space more than a decade ago to take Indian classical music to diverse audiences. The sisters, who are trained in psychology, have now launched another inspiring initiative – The Sound Space on Wheels, a bus that navigates through different slum dwellings in Mumbai to teach Indian classical music to the children who live there. In this fully equipped music classroom on wheels, the children are led by professionally trained music educators and follow a customised curriculum. Aekta Kapoor, editor of eShe, speaks to Kamakshi and Vishala about this unique initiative. For more conversations with inspiring women, follow us on YouTube for visit eshe.in
