A different take on todays podcast! After publishing the "decide to dismount" short video on her fb page, Becky received a huge amount of comments both positive and negative. We decided that it was important to answer some of the many questions that arose and address some of the more negative comments. It can be so easy to comment on people's videos but are we being helpful? Are there better ways to express our feelings online? Trudi clarifies the fundamentals of the training; Did we use reinforcers? Is it actually negative reinforcement on the mat? How was the mat trained? Is the rate or reinforcement too low? A lot of commenters believe that, if given the choice, their horse would choose not to do the work. The three of us talk about this a little more in depth, is that actually the case?
