We’re on a mission to create EPIC families: Extraordinary Parents. Incredible Children.

Families with children (and potentially parents!) who have ADHD, Autism or sit along the neurodiverse spectrum...it's time celebrate the power of thinking differently.

The EPIC Families Podcast gives neurodiverse families the certainty, clarity and confidence to build EPIC relationships and live incredible lives though embracing - not fighting against - what makes them unique.

We deliver strength in neurodiversity by grabbing the information from experts who have it, and giving it to the families who need it. Our focus is on real-life families and providing them with practical guidance, tools and support. We are proudly and boldly different - we focus on real, chaotic, messy family life, not perfect psychological scenarios and academic case studies.

No longer will neurodiverse families feel overlooked, misunderstood, confused, ignored or forgotten. This is where we make a stand and prove to the world that neurodiversity is superpower!

EPIC Families is delivered by Bay Paediatrics, one of New Zealand's leading child neurodiversity clinics. Discover more at: https://baypaediatrics.com/

The show is hosted by Freddie Bennett, a neurodiverse dad who conquered his mind and became a Guinness World Record holder, crossed the Sahara Desert, and ran the Arctic towards the North Pole. Now he’s on a mission to help every family understand that neurodiversity does not have to be a weakness…it can be your greatest strength.

The Resilience Ladder: How to Overcome Anxiety

Anxiety can be a huge challenge for neurodivergent children…and their families. It can feel overwhelming, confusing and never-ending. But there IS a way forwards, and you don’t have to let anxiety hold your child back.

We welcome child educational psychologist Nadia du Plessis to give a masterclass on how anxiety shows up for your child, the impacts it can have and - most importantly - how you can help your child build true resilience and take back control of their thoughts and emotions.

Nadia reveals:

🏷️ How ‘anxiety’ can be an extremely heavy label to burden child with, when it could be defined as a different emotion.

🎢 Spotting the difference between ‘normal’ rollercoaster emotions and anxiety disorder emotions.

📈 Why neurodivergent children may experience more anxiety on a regular basis.

🔍 The hidden signs & behaviours to look out for in order to understand whether your child is suffering from anxiety.

🎚️ Why anxiety is NOT always about the child who is naughty or disobedient, and is more about control

🪫 The phenomenons of ‘emotional blindness’ and ‘neurodivergent burnout’ and how they can impact neurodivergent children.

😵‍💫 How to deal with ‘end of year’ chaos when there is too much to do and too little time.

PLUS

🧠 Tried and tested psychological strategies to help your child overcome anxiety ‘in the moment’
