This is a look into our world of Language Arts. I teach 7th, 8th, and 9th graders at our school, and I'm excited to get to share some of their thoughts. We'll talk reading, writing, and include some entertainment along the way.

What's up with Vanessa? An interview with a student.
Thank you to our first guest, Vanessa, who volunteered to be interviewed. We cover quarantining with siblings, reading, writing (proud teacher moment--don't mind the authentic 1-1 reading and writing conferences between me and my student!), and leaving our story for the future. Why wouldn't someone 100 years from now want to know about Disney + and dance parties when they look back on the Coronavirus pandemic? It's always good to hear a positive voice any time, but it's especially good when we're all just trying to stay busy. Thanks for being on to chat, Vanessa! We also update on Porter, whose heavy breathing you can hear in certain segments because he would not take no for an answer to be on the podcast, and we honor the late great Joe Diffie, plugging his song “Ships that Don’t Come In” (https://youtu.be/KTQJy-scAU8). Thanks for listening! Stay home and wash your hands!
