Welcome to a brand new series I created where I'll be "scoring" what herbs sound like energetically - how these medicinal plants would be heard and felt sonically. Before we start - What is smudging?
Smudging is traditionally a ceremony for purifying or cleansing the soul, mind or space of negative energy.
In many Native cultures, plants are more than living things, they have a soul, a spirit. If you have been following me on my socials, I talk about the necessity of rebuilding a relationship with Mother. Burning sage is a way of communing with the spiritual realm and connecting to the Spirit of the plant from the earth. By burning the sage with intention, you are asking the Spirit of the sage to lend its cleansing and protective energy into your space, body, energy, etc.
The goal for this series is to capture the plants energy, essence and spirit in frequency & melody.
Use this sound to remove unwanted energies that take up space in your home, body or mind.
You are more than welcome to use this while you actually smudge.
Lastly, as an important reminder - INTENTION is everything when partaking in these moments/exchanges.
Set the intention. Welcome the spirit of the plant, and visualize the medicine moving through the room or body.
