She talks about writing a film set exclusively in one location, and how restriction can enhance creativity. She also talks about how the film was inspired by Rene Magritte and his painting the lovers, as well as current "It girl" McKenna Grace, who co-stars in the film.
Elliott Hasler is a filmmaker from Brighton, who started making his first film when he was just 14 years old. Now 25, he has released his follow-up. Vindication Swim is the true story of Mercedes Gleitze and her attempt to become the first woman to swim the English Channel. Striving for authenticity, Elliot talks about why they decided to film on the actual waters of the channel.

Chelsea Haberlin is a theatre creator, Artistic director of Neworld Theatre, and the director of Meeting, the debut play from Katherine Gauthier. The immersive show centres around a group therapy session and deals with 'Co-Dependents, Love and Sex Addicts Anonymous', in a small intimate space. It features groundbreaking mental health and trauma-informed practices as well as a talk-forward with the audiences.
The show runs May 14th-June 7th at the Chalmers Heritage Building in Vancouver.

Beth Lane is an actress-turned-documentary filmmaker whose powerful debut film Unbroken tells the story of her family's survival in the Holocaust. Using interviews with her mother and her aunts, Beth retraces the family's steps in Germany and remembers her grandmother, who was a victim in the concentration camp.
It was released on Netflix on April 23rd, which happened to be Holocaust Remembrance Day.

Christian White is a multidisciplinary Haida artist and storyteller whose career has spanned 50 years. A Retrospective on his career is opening at the Bill Reid Gallery in Vancouver on February 1st and runs for a full year.

Jose Laurenço is the Canadian filmmaker behind the new hit Young Werther. Based off the novel by Johnann Wolfgang von Goethe and shot in Hamilton and Toronto, the film stars Douglas Booth, Alison Pill, Iris Apatow, and Patrick J. Adams. It was releassed on January 10th.
For years, Michael Polish made films with his twin brother Mark, with Michael often behind the camera, and Mark in front, and both being credited as writer. He also worked solo for the last decade or so, including his new film, the spy-thriller Alarum starring Scott Eastwood and Sylvester Stallone. It is available January 17th.
